This year’s City of Bunbury’s Heritage Awards will celebrate Bunbury’s heritage and the people who work so hard to conserve it.

Nominations for the biennial awards are now open and people are encouraged to nominate recent initiatives, projects or individuals that champion the city’s heritage.

The two categories are Excellence in Heritage Building Design and Conservation Work and the Outstanding Heritage Promotion award. The aim of the awards is to raise awareness of the city’s heritage and showcase the local heritage success stories.

Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan urged people to nominate before the deadline.

“Bunbury’s heritage is an important storytelling tool that should be promoted and conserved,” he said.

“The City acknowledges all those who are working hard to conserve our city’s unique and fascinating heritage.

“On behalf of our community, thank you.”

A 2018 winner was the former Lyric Theatre, on the corner of Victoria and Symmonds streets.

Award guidelines and nomination forms are available on the City of Bunbury Website or by contacting Lacey Brown on 9792 7974 or
