A drawing by a Geraldton student of the Point Moore Lighthouse at sunset will be featured on the City of Greater Geraldton’s reusable calico bags.

Students from Waggrakine Primary School created their own entry statement signs for the Welcome to Geraldton exhibition, curated by The Geraldton Project.

Artwork by Ryan Kelly was selected out of 40 designs to appear on the calico bags, which are available for purchase at the Geraldton Visitor Centre.

Mayor Shane Van Styn said he was impressed with all the entries.

“It’s great to see school students taking a keen interest in tourism, the community and Geraldton’s future,” he said.

The Act-Belong-Commit exhibition is on display at The Exchange – upstairs at the Geraldton Visitor Centre – until June 6.
