One of the label’s designers also designer her famous wedding dress as well as several of her showpieces over her years as a royal.

She accessorised the stunning gown with glittering silver stilettos and striking pearl and diamanté earrings and a bracelet, believed to have belonged to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana.

Prince William wore a traditional black tuxedo but strayed from tradition slightly with a pair of black velvet loafers.

The royal couple sat in the front row for the star-studded awards ceremony and greeted some of the night’s winners, including best actress winner Olivia Colman, who is also an Oscar nominee for her portrayal of Queen Anne in The Favourite.

The Favourite won best British film on the night, while Rachel Weisz was named best supporting actress for the movie.

Rami Malek won the best actor award for his portrayal of the late Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody while Mahershala Ali was awarded best supporting actor for his role as a pianist in Green Book.
