A 73-year-old man was the alleged victim of a terrifying screwdriver road rage attack in Fremantle.
Police allege his attacker cracked the windscreen and driver’s side window of his Toyota Landcruiser with a screwdriver, before assaulting the 73-year-old.
The incident happened at the intersection of Stock Road and South Street, O’Connor, on April 10.
Police said the incident flared about 4pm when the 73-year-old overtook a white Mitsubishi Triton on Stock Road.
The Triton driver then allegedly overtook the Landcruiser on the inside, hitting the left side mirror.
The attack allegedly happened when both vehicles stopped at a red light.
A 43-year-old Medina man has been charged with aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm, criminal damage and possessing an article with intent.
He is expected to appear before Fremantle Magistrate’s Court on May 4.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
