An armed robber pointed a gun at customers and threatened them during a hold-up at a bottle shop in Perth’s northern suburbs overnight.

Police say a man entered the bottle shop in Beldon, on the corner of Marmion Avenue and Gunter Grove, about 11pm on Friday.

“He was armed with a firearm and demanded till takings from the shop attendant, before pointing the firearm at customers and threatening them as they entered the store,” a police spokesman said.

The offender, described as 25 to 35 years of age, light-skinned and 175cm to 185cm tall, had his face concealed and escaped on foot carrying a bag of cash.

Police conducted a wide search of the area using canine and response units, but were unable to locate the offender overnight.

Detectives from the Regional Investigation Unit are investigating.
