MKR contestants Stella and Jazzey let out a sigh of relief last night after narrowly avoiding becoming the second WA team to be kicked out of competition first in successive years.

The two waitresses beat Queensland contestants Ash and Matty last night in the elimination cook-off. The “Elimination House” format sees contestants cook and are judged by the next wave of teams to enter the competition.

The best friends have revealed that they are hoping the Seven reality show leads to further opportunities in the entertainment industry.

“We are just dabbling,” Jazzey told AAA.

“I think MKR was the perfect thing for us because we love our dynamic as friends because we got to do a bit of everything on the show. But a bit of radio wouldn’t go astray. I’ll just give whatever a go.”

Stella is a little more focused on where she wants her career to go.

“I want to be a singer,” she said.

“We’re not desperate, but we’re desperate ... We’ll do anything”

Jazzey adds it wasn’t the only reason they wanted to apply for the show.

“We’re not like other people that were like ‘I’m here to become a celebrity’, it wasn’t like that at all,” she said.

“I think there was a lot of pluses for us going on the show — cooking related and not cooking related. We went on there because we do love cooking, we love cooking together and we wanted to do the experience together.”
