The weight loss journey; From then to now.

Written by Luke Monday, 12 March 2012 14:56

So I’ve finally reached the one month mark of my weight loss journey and lost 11 kgs, has it been a month of blood, sweat and tears NO WAY! Has it been super easy? Lets be honest no lifestyle or get healthy change is easy even if they say it is and swear you’ll get great ab’s in 3 minutes a day. BUT it has been easy enough for me to do comfortably and with great results and all I had to do was set a goal and stick with it.

HELP and kindness… Are they becoming just words?

The other day on my way to work a car had broken down and was stuck in a right hand lane, as I got closer I noticed that no-one stopped to offer help at all and I thought if I was in that situation I would want someone to give me a hand so I myself stopped. The amount of people flying past and not even asking if we needed assistance shocked me.

Giving up the consumption stick…

So as of today I have not had a cigarette in 2 weeks and 4 days, as I write this it doesn’t feel that much of an achievement because it feels like it’s been at least 3 or 4 and a bit weeks. But the achievement for me is HUGE, I’ve gone from believing that I will never quit smoking because A It’s way too hard and I couldn’t handle the stress and B because I simply enjoyed it, I can tell you I feel great in all aspects such as getting my sense of taste and smell back and generally feel healthier. Sadly the first time I realised I could smell better was walking past the kitty litter tray at home and let me just say I wished I kept smoking so I didn’t have to smell it!

Valentines Day, Marketing with Love.

Valentines Day, some love it some hate it.

I’m in between, for me the commercialisation that comes with Valentines Day is like Easter and Christmas, they remind me of having to put the toilet seat down …It might not mean much to me but does to someone else and has to be done or I’m in trouble.

Good health and babies; a blokes nightmare.

Blokes and weight loss…

As your average bloke I don’t really tend to think about keeping tabs on a healthy lifestyle, I tend to think along the lines of 2 basic principals…

•    If your hungry, eat
•    If your thirsty, drink

And where has this got me? Well besides stomach satisfaction, getting a lot of knock back’s at the pub and being 25 to 30 kgs above my ideal weight….no where really.
